From a very young age I developed an unusual passion to serve my country, and that passion still has a very strong hold on my mind. I do not know how or why this passion took hold of me, All I can say is that for half a century it has been an obsession in me. Sometimes I wish I too was a normal person, making money and enjoying the good things in life, as I see most people doing. Of course I need some money to enable me to lead a middle class existence to which I am accustomed, but beyond that it has always been that passion, like a demon, which has been driving me on. i saw my country at a very young age in a terrible condition, with most of my countrymen living in horrible poverty, and I determined to set matters right, What, will I lift up Olympus alone? But never mind if I am alone in this endeavour. By decades of hard study, discussions with some people with top class minds, and deep and prolonged reflection, I have equipped myself perfectly for this Herculean task. I have a duty and responsibility towards my nation, and will discharge it till my last breath. My aim is to see India emerge as a modern, highly prosperous country with its people happy and enjoying a high standard of living. All my efforts are directed to this end. I see nothing else, like Arjun seeing nothing but the eye of the revolving fish in Draupadis swayamvar.
