From an interview with Rachel Krinksy, CEO of YWCA Madison, by the talented James Edward Mills! This is my favorite question/answer... Is there anything about Madison that you want to change? If I could change one thing in Madison it would be that each person, group or organization in this community would really think deeply about what each of us can change within our own spheres of influence that bring us closer to welcoming all kinds of people. There’s all this talk about racism. People get frustrated and they give up because it seems too big. But each of us has a sphere of influence within ourselves, our homes, our families, our friends. I would like it if people in Madison would stop worrying about being right and proper and think instead about how to really welcome and value all kinds of people.
