From awarding model farmers to rewarding model militia? It appears the regimes propaganda tactics are shifting from gibrina merash limat to dehninet merash. You might recall that the regime used to parade on television farmers who turned themselves from substance peasants to millionaire commercial farmers overnight. Now they are adopting the same tactic for the security sector. Its reported that 3 tataki (security officials) are selected from each district ( aanaa/woreda) in Oromia to be rewarded as model militia for their exemplary performance in ensuring peace and democratic development. The award is planned to be handed out during the upcoming security sector training in relation to the 2015 election. This is considered to be part of the strategy to motivate militias to compete for loyalty during the election. What his means for the already grave human rights situation in Oromia is obvious.
