From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God. He said, “In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. - Jonah 2:1 When the Lord sent Jonah to the great city of Nineveh to preach against, and to speak out how wicked its people are. But Jonah set out in the opposite direction in order to get away from the Lord. He went to Joppa, where he found a ship about to go to Tarshish. Like Jonah, you may get yourself into some unusual places and unhappy circumstances. Are you in a place you shouldnt be today? Are you far from God, feeling defeated, trapped, and unhappy? There is a place God wants you to be. Going where God didnt send forth is heading calamities and fruitless pursuits. Be in a camp where Gods presence is. Then, cry out to the Lord, confess your sin, and be restored by His abundant mercy. He is waiting to hear your cry of repentance.
