From local news reports, you may have heard various stories about an incident that occurred today at PIMS regarding a portion of the brick facade on the building falling to the street today. The school administration verifies that this incident occurred today around 8:40AM. The administration also reports that no one was injured from the incident and no structural damage occurred to the building. Classes were suspended however, students and faculty were dismissed, and the corresponding block of Baum Blvd. was shut down by City of Pittsburgh building inspectors as a precautionary measure. The building is temporarily inoperable, but efforts are underway to begin restoration procedures. The PIMS administration apologizes for the short term inconvenience to those who travel Baum Blvd.
