From mother, Jessica Ferrell: When I first found out my son was going to get a Big Couple (instead of the traditional Big Brother), I panicked. I was ready to dismiss this opportunity for my son. I discussed my concerns with my family and prayed about this opportunity. It became clear this wasnt about me but about my son. Upon meeting with my sons new Bigs, Eric and Mckenzie, I knew they would be wonderful! They have blessed and enriched Gabes life so much. Since Eric and Mckenzie have come into our lives, Ive notice a boost in Gabes self esteem and confidence level. Im so happy I was able to swallow my fears so that Gabe, Mckenzie and Eric could begin a lifelong friendship. The time Gabe had to be on the waiting list was well worth it, the staff at BBBS couldnt have picked a better match, be patient with the staff, they are diligently working to pair your child with the best fit Big.
