From my Aunt Sandy: DEAR HIT AND RUN DRIVER Yes, YOU! You - TopicsExpress

From my Aunt Sandy: DEAR HIT AND RUN DRIVER Yes, YOU! You know who you are, but I unfortunately dont since you saw fit to flee the scene after causing a horrible accident this morning. At 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 10th, at the intersection of Cook’s Bridge and County Line Road in Jackson, NJ, you crashed your big black vehicle into my blue GMC Sierra truck. That truck was carrying my son, my precious only child and the light of my life. The collision also forced the truck into a third vehicle, a vehicle in which a woman had her adorable little girl strapped into her car seat holding tightly to a toy shaped like an ice cream cone. Just so you know (in case you actually do have a conscience and are wondering) everyone was able to walk away, physically unharmed at least. But let’s talk about you for a minute. I wonder how you’re feeling right now. I hope the guilt is eating you alive because then maybe, just maybe, I could forgive you. Obviously you know you hit another vehicle, because with the amount of damage that you did there’s no way you didn’t feel the impact. I’m going to have to assume you sustained some damage to your vehicle also since you left quite a bit of black paint on my bumper and broken bits in the street. Are you feeling paranoid? You should be, because the police officer took down a description, including the license number (Whisky, Tango, Echo . . . shall I continue?) of your little hit and run machine. By now I’d imagine that information has gone into a statewide insurance database, so good luck getting your car repaired. Oh, and another thing . . . this took place in front of a bank. Just a hint for you – banks have cameras. I don’t know you, so for the present I’m going to assume you’re just someone who made a mistake and for whatever reason was too scared to stop and take responsibility for what you’ve done or to even check and see if you’d possibly killed someone. In case you weren’t aware, by leaving the scene you’ve committed a crime and turned what might have been just an honest mistake into something much worse. A certain someone (who may or may not have been wearing a uniform at the time) told me that if you were to turn yourself in before they have to come and find you (and they will find you, I promise!) that it will go much easier on you. In closing, I just want to wish you good luck. You’re probably going to need it.
