From my Old Testament readings this morning… 1 Chronicles - TopicsExpress

From my Old Testament readings this morning… 1 Chronicles 10:13-14 13 So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against the LORD, because of the word of the LORD which he did not keep; and also because he asked counsel of a medium, making inquiry of it, 14 and did not inquire of the LORD. Therefore He killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse. A sober reminder for all who look beyond Jesus as their mediator and the Word of God as the revelation of God. If God did not spare Saul who’s sin was to desire to know God’s will through an apparition of the greatest and most godly prophet of the time then He is angered by all who seek guidance from the dead as opposed to the resurrected Savior and living word of God. Good cross-references… 1 Timothy 2:5 5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, Hebrews 4:12 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
