Your request for additional financial assistance from Bethany has been received and the Financial Assistance Committee has reviewed your application form and taken into account the new information you have provided through your Admissions Counselor. This email details the results of that review and shows all financial assistance that is being awarded for the upcoming year. Please read it carefully and contact the College if you have questions. You have been awarded the following scholarship: $550 Need-based Scholarship $950 Full-time Christian Worker Scholarship In addition, the College would also like to offer you a $2,000 matching scholarship: Matching scholarships can provide an excellent opportunity for students to share with family, friends and churches about how God has led them to Bethany, what they will be studying and how they hope to utilize that training in ministry. Ministry partners generally find it gratifying to know that their gift will potentially be doubled by the College through the scholarship. This investment in you, as a missionary-in-training, often results in increased prayer support and a greater interest in your calling to the nations as well! Heres how a matching scholarship works: * You have from now until June 30 to submit funds to Bethany, which will be applied to any outstanding invoices you might have or, if there are no outstanding invoices, the funds will be credited to your account. * These funds do not have to come from you, but can also come from your church, school, family, friends, private scholarships and other financial supporters. * On June 30 we will total the funds that have come in for you. The College will then apply a matching scholarship to your student account (up to $2,000 of the combined total of all funds), based on the total of the funds. * All of our scholarships, including the matching scholarship are disbursed evenly between two semesters. So, half of the matching scholarship will be disbursed in the fall and half in the spring. The funds that you or others send in toward the match will all be applied to your first semester costs. For example, you might submit a combination of funds from your parents, a church gift and money from your savings account by June 30, totaling $2,000, which would be applied to your first semester costs. Bethany College of Missions would then add an additional $2,000 matching scholarship to your student account; $1,000 would be disbursed for your first semester costs and $1,000 for your second semester. If you submit less than the $2,000 maximum, Bethany will match whatever amount you are able to send in (up to the $2,000 maximum). If you submit more than the $2,000 maximum, thats great!, but Bethany will give you a matching scholarship only up to the maximum amount. When communicating with potential supporters (or sending in your own funds), there are a few important things you will want to convey: * The matching scholarship deadline is June 30. They are welcome to give after that date, but it will not be matched by the College. * The maximum amount the College will match is $2,000 total from all funds combined. * Funds submitted toward the cost of your schooling are not tax deductible. * How to send funds: For You - The preferred method is to make all payments through your online student profile. You can log in by going to our website (bcom.org) and then click on Student Portal (bottom left corner of the home page). Once you have logged in, go to your Financial Tab. Click on the Dashboard. Look to the right under Amount Due and you will see a small link Someone else paying?. Click on this and a link will appear which will take you to an electronic payment page. For Other Individuals - You can copy and paste the link to the payment page above, and send it to anyone who might like to send in funds for you. The link will be valid for 30 days. For Organizations (churches, scholarship committees etc) - You can also send organizations the electronic payment link if you prefer. _Important:_ Any payment made using the electronic payment form will automatically go against the oldest outstanding invoice on your account. For instance, you have been invoiced for a room deposit. If you do not wish to pay the non-refundable room deposit yet , go ahead and allow your payment to be applied to the invoice, but then email ([email protected]) to let her know that you would like the funds simply credited to your account. Please pass this information on to others who may use the electronic payment form, as well, if it is important to you. Checks and money orders are fine from any source as well. We can receive checks or money orders in U.S. funds only and made out to Bethany College of Missions, with your name in the memo line or included on a separate insert with the check.
