From my heart Sometimes as young women we get into relationships not for love but simply because we dont want to be alone. Being alone makes us have to face ourselves & some of us cant stand ourselves ! being alone makes us face our own failures, our shortcomings, our flaws, our guilt, our shame & our imperfections & many times, wed rather settle in a relationship & take that attention off of our mess than to acknowledge it & face it ! the problem is often times what were trying to run away from in ourselves well end up finding in our significant other ! so essentially many times we stay in a dysfunctional relationship w/ a person that mirrors our own brokenness ! My heart is heavy tonight for young women because so many of us are doing it ! we keep blaming the guys ( which they have mess too ) but we keep blaming them instead of confronting our own junk & seeking God to fill our own voids ! If were staying in relationships where a guy is mistreating us & abusing us physically, emotionally, mentally etc. what is the problem within us that allows us to stay ? what is the void within us that allows us to accept that kind of treatment ? What are the voids in us that allow us to be belittled & called out of our names ? What are the voids within us that allow us to give our bodies away without a single thought ? what are the voids within us that keep us from living in our worth & value ? Is it because daddy wasnt there ? is it because we grew up in domestic violent households ? is it because of a rape/ molestation that took away our worth & value at an early age ? is it because we dont know Christ ? is it because we dont like our appearance & will settle to hear the words youre beautiful from someone else that we dont even feel about ourselves ? the dysfunctional relationship only masks the REAL , underneath dirty, dark , ugly & hidden truth about ourselves that we dont want to face ! the beautiful part about it is that when we truly decide to face it God wont leave us hanging but will be there right beside us healing us every step of the way :)! but we have to make the decision to cut off the dead end cycles of dysfunction that will lead us absolutely no where & will leave us with nothing but emptiness before that healing can ever take place. God is not going to force us to give Him to the voids & dysfunction, we have to acknowledge it & then give it to Him ~
