From my neighbor Saul Friedman, View Park Sorry for the ominous - TopicsExpress

From my neighbor Saul Friedman, View Park Sorry for the ominous post, but I had a very scary encounter this morning with a neighborhood neighbor, which ended in an attack to both myself, and more upsetting, to my dogs. I was walking my dogs as I do every morning on a path that takes us along Fairland Blvd. This morning as my dogs were sniffing the grass on the parkway strip (area of grass between street/sidewalk) in front of 3658 Fairland, a male voice hollered at me from a window to get my dogs off his lawn (Im paraphrasing to keep this PG), I replied with excuse me? he said you heard me, get your ******* dogs off my *** **** lawn and I said theres a polite way of asking that you know. mind you one dog was on the sidewalk another was on the grass owned by the county. He said Ill come down I said yeah, theres a better way to handle this than yelling at people through a window. His door opened, and he immediately reached to the left of his door picked up a brick and threw it at my dogs (both small dogs, shihtzu and poodle). I turned to make sure they were ok and the next thing I knew he was on top of me and punched me in the face. After which he lost his balance and stumbled a few steps then head back inside telling me to stay off his property. I managed to get the last few moments on video and immediately called the Sheriffs department. Im not a confrontational person, and this escalated very very quickly. Im grateful that my dogs werent harmed as the brick landed short and only rolled into them. However it could have ended very differently. If you are a responsible dog walker who leashes, and picks up after your dog, and only allows them on the parkway strip believing you are doing everything right to be a good neighbor, please be aware and be advised that the male resident (photo attached) at 3658 Fairland is under the impression that the sidewalk and strip of grass before the stree are both his property and he is willing do defend it through immediate and irrational physical violence. We are a community who may not always agree on everything, but I hope we can at least agree to converse through our words and not escalate to the point of physical violence towards one another, our properties, pets or families.
