From my time teaching yesterday at NCU. 3 Characteristic of the landscape surrounding the Youth of the West Today. 1. There is access to more information then any other time in history. This has created a pitfall for knowledge. 2. There is a herding to smaller and more diverse social groups with specific creeds and interests. 3. There is a connected relationally reality but also at the same time a void of deep relationships. Because of this landscape this has created a great opportunity for serving and reaching youth of the west. What is it? 1. Deeply Relationship Driven Models for Youth Organizations will be successful. For any Youth organizational model to be successful for the FUTURE it will have to make a shift from information entertainment delivery systems to relationship connecting moments that don’t directly involve the leader(s). 4 driving needs of the youth of today. 1. Looking to find DEEP Relationships. 2. Looking to be PERSONALLY AMAZED. 3. Looking to Do SOMETHING THEMSELVES that’s radical. 4. Looking to find HEALING for THEIR HURTS.
