From now on we should call FATA an Occupied Territory. Merging FATA with Pakhtunkhwa makes sense, historically, culturally, socially, economically and as well politically but it does not suit the big colonial brother –Punjab because Pashtuns will outnumber Punjabis in federal legislative bodies and in population formula for NFC Award. Strategically, it does not suit the army, Punjab and the Saudis as well because they will lose a buffer zone, where they keep their strategic asset (taliban/alqaida). Pakhtun nationalist movement has to work hard in FATA to organize a popular movement to abolish FATA and the sanctuaries created by the establishment. We should call FATA from now on an Occupied Territory.
