From now until Christmas, Ill be posting my 25 favorite Christmas movies and TV specials. #6: A Charlie Brown Christmas Peanuts is probably my favorite Sunday morning comic strip. Dont get me wrong, I love Calvin and Hobbes, but hear me out. Calvin was the awkward kid we all wanted to be. Not a care in the world what anyone thought, and always did his own thing. Charlie Brown was a more realistic take on being the odd kid. Slightly miserable, but you just kind of sigh and soldier on. This special though is brilliant. The music is beyond iconic, and it has a nice balance of criticizing some of the less than favorable parts of the holiday, while also celebrating what makes this time of year so special. Christmas just isnt right, unless you watch this special.
