From one of my Frozen Snot Friends, race day words of encouragement for the coming race that I wanted to share. Gentlemen, today we strive, for no good reason at all, to run up and down a mountain for hours. Today, with the conviction of our questionable mental stability, we will disregard the darts and jabs of our friends, family, and the general public, those naysayers who proclaim, This is silly, Good for you, not me, and Youre a freaking idiot. Today, we will brave sprains, breaks, and hypothermia to join the hallowed ranks of those who have come before us, some of whom may or may not presently reside in mental institutions, and to get a pretty neat jacket. Today, we defy that little voice inside, that voice of reason that prefers we do safer, more timid things like run into traffic with no clothes on. Today, at the summit of our exertions, we will announce to the heavens, I am MAN! If we can spare the air, that is. And if our ears cease ringing for just a moment, we might just hear a distant (female) voice in response: Hey man, take out the trash. Author .... Mr. Steven Corbett
