From one of us: I was diagnosed 9 years ago with bipolar disorder at the age of 15. I have had my fair share of medication trials, ups of mania and downs of depression. I have to say that the past year has been my absolute worst. I divorced my ex, became a single mother in a matter of hours due to my ex moving at the last minute 6 states away, I graduated college and hit absolute rock bottom. After I had my son I kinda forced my own treatment to the side... little did I know that I would be attacked by postpartum depression. I started going back to treatment after I finished a 6 week intensive out patient in February. Since starting with a new therapist they did their own evaluation of me. I definitely have bipolar (I was told it is not like the typical type one or type two... I cycle evenly through ups and downs with such an exhaustingly fast pace the doctor is amazed I function at all), they now think I have a separate underlying personality disorder, PTSD, ADHD and a separation anxiety issue. My question is, does anyone else have multiple diagnosis? Also I have a baby on the way and I am too scared to take any medications... is it smart for me to hold off until after the baby is born?
