From our Admin Angela in SA, An important message to all, of the importance of treat Eye Ulcers quickly, injuries to eyes can turn nasty very quickly and can cause long term damage: REX was rescued from a puppy farm 18months ago and we adopted him from PUG SOS..he suffers from pigmentary keratitis and has no sight in his right eye and only 70% in his left eye..his condition is a direct result of neglect..yesterday he underwent surgery to scrape the pigment from his right eye to reveal his cornea and with some luck and lots of care restore some of his sight. The specialist said that he has multiple scars on his cornea from untreated ulcers..please watch your pugs eyes if you see any change or something you think doesnt look quite right take him for a check up..it will save him so much pain and anxiety and it will save you thousands of $$$..he will be on medication for the rest of his life..Rex is a beautiful, gentle man we love him to bits and hes is our other pug, Lewis, bestie..I have all my fingers and toes crossed that he will see in his right eye and he will not have to touch me when we walk so he knows where I am..to get scared if he cant see me..yet I am only two foot away from him..and he will be able to have a run down the beach with his mate Please read our information from our website written by Belinda (B1) and audited by Dr Chloe from Animal Eye Care in Malvern pugs-sos/eye-ulcers.html
