From our October 10 concert winner in Philadelphia - John Owens. Thanks John! Wow, what a show! The Philadelphia Academy of Music was built for the kind of sound made on that stage last night. Jackson & his band opened with The Barricades of Heaven, & it was a rollercoaster of New & Nostalgia for the rest of the night. Leaving Winslow is destined to be a classic, I woke up with it this morning, playing in my head. The dialogue between Jackson & the audience made it feel like a gathering of old friends more than a formal concert. His band is incredible. Watching Greg Leisz play is an experience in itself. When we arrived and picked up the tickets, the package contained a letter of apology concerning the seat locations. It seems the only front row seats available would not provide a good view, nor a good listening experience as they were next to the speakers. The seats we did get were the best I ever had. Dead center, a couple rows back. Very comfortable. In fact, we were in the same row as Philadelphias own Rock DJ legend Pierre Robert, who was kind enough to take a selfie with my Wife. The t-shirts, and autographed CD, given to us for having to settle for such awesome seats were icing on the cake. In all, I couldnt have planned such a magical evening if I tried. I really could go on & on. Among my concert experiences, this ranks up in my top 3, along with Pink Floyd, and Billy Joel, and just may claim top spot. Thank You for a much needed escape from my normal, hectic day to day. Ill be talking about this one for quite a while!
