From our October 15th concert winner in Akron - Carol Dunn. Thanks Carol! When Jackson and the band walked on stage my first thought was: This is no carbon copy, this is the genuine article. The concert started with The Barricades of Heaven. It was so great it was mesmerizing. The concert continued with one great song after another. When he sang In the Shape of a Heart I felt like I was at a poetry reading and my favorite Poet broke into song. Magic moment, that one. I love the Cleveland area concerts. The audience is so sincerely loving the music, they drink, sing along and have a good time. There was a comical moment when one guy called out one too many songs and another fellow across the way yelled out—Shut the F@#$ up! Hilarious. I’m really loving the new songs. Leaving Winslow and Long Way Around are just classic Jackson tunes. Ive heard him sing The Birds of St. Mark’s before, be that as it may, this by far is the best version I have heard. The band is just wonderful, I can’t say enough good things about them. Closing number before the encore was Running on Empty. You know when people ask you if you had a time machine where would you go? I always say 1977, the Running on Empty tour. I felt like I jumped in that Tardis last night. The audience got on their feet and made the show. :) When I received the email that I had won the front row tickets at the JB concert in Akron, I was stunned. Why? Because those front row seats have been on my bucket list for years. Check! On my way out I bought the new CD. A sincere thanks to JB, the band and the whole team. A good time was had by all.
