From our WONDERFUL Mill Dog Rescue Heros at National Mill Dog Rescue: Meet Howie!!! Hello!!! My name is Howie! I’m a Male Miniature Poodle. Ive been in a foster home since 11/8/12. And I have VERY good performance reviews! My foster Mommy says that Im very sweet and submissive. I tend to have a great deal of anxiety that manifests as continual pacing. But, the way to get through to me is with my leash. For the first several weeks, my foster family left it attached so they could have a way to get to me without getting too close. I will instantly calm when Im on leash as I know I will be getting direction and Im very receptive to direction. I have also started to enjoy a little petting but Im still nervous about hands. I still need to be approached slowly. All in all, Im a sweet boy that is slowly opening up. Ive adjusted well to living in a house and really enjoy calm/balanced canine companions. If someone is looking for a lap dog, someone to cuddle with or play fetch, Ill admit Im not quite there yet. So, I need someone who enjoys the process of watching a dog transform and has patience. I have a BIG heart! Please give me a chance. A home with children ages 6+ would be best. And did I mention...
