From resolutiongear. Excerpt from my journal (The beginning of Operation Phantom Fury) 041108: It is just past midnight and damn, it is cold, the wind is not helping either. I went to the side of a hill and dug a hole into it, I got inside it and covered myself with a poncho. I was too tired to care where I slept at that point and drifted off to sleep. At about 0400 it started to rain and a drop fell on my face, great. I just rolled over and shivvered myslef back to sleep. I woke up around 0530 and got the rest of the guys up. I used the exhaust of one of the tanks to dry off my poncho. A few of the other Marines quickly came over to take advantage of the heat from the tank. At 1000 we loaded up again, we did our comm checks and were now ready. At 1045 the tracks on our vehicle began to schreech and turn. We began our push to our first objective, an apartment complex just north of Fallujah. At 1130 the ramp dropped and we were now in the attack. We took sniper fire from within the city and 6 hours later we took our objective. It was a succesful mission, zero casualties. Fighter planes fired the rest of the evening and throughout the night. Me and Arkansas (Clairday) went up and down through all the apartments looking for some eggs. I cooked some and we ate some como seducir, burritos! HA HA! It was good.
