From senior In Sanctuary foster Seagrams foster mom, the famous (for her good deeds) and wonderful Tammie. What a difference a foster home can make for a dog... After looking at the first picture, when Seagram was in CACC (end of May 2014)where this ancient little guy wouldnt lift his head or acknowledge attention, please look at the next pictures. See him showing off his own little condo space, where he stays when no one is home. But most important, look at the life in those soulful brown eyes. He knows he is not alone...He knows he belongs...and he knows he is loved. We know that antiquity will not keep him with us forever, but what a difference a home has made for him and what a difference, he has made in our life too. Parting, with a foster, will most surely be a heart breaking experience. Seagram is with us in sanctuary, and it will break my heart when his time comes. However, other fosters have left their marks all over our hearts, and when I see them with their new families, my heart is joyful. They have wonderful loving homes instead of having ended up a statistic! You cant keep them all, and rescue surely cant save them all, no matter how hard we try. Apathy for animals is epidemic and is, unfortunately winning in shelters everywhere. Fostering is a wonderful gift of life that gives a dog, in need, another chance. You dont have to be a revolving door, of foster after foster, but please be open to the possibility, no matter what the breed. Adopt a Husky and other rescues can only save when there is a welcome mat placed on someones doorstep that allows a foster to cross their threshold, temporarily, to feel the warmth of loving arms and safety until their family finds them. Let someone know you are willing to give fostering a chance, so when the time comes there is a place to put that Husky in need. Tis the season, when we will start seeing more and more discarded dogs. Instead of sharing loving holidays with their furry family members, shelters around the country will start seeing an increase with dog after dog. Everyone else thinks someone else will take them...and then :( Pleas help to start a positive trend. Help a Husky this Holiday Season and make sure that he or she has a place to hang a stocking, with a future family, for many years to come! Please open your hearts and homes to the possibility of loving a foster dog, for just a little while. Respectfully to all and God Bless the foster homes out there, past, present and future who make such a difference. I love my little Seagram foster to pieces! Hugs, tammie
