From supporter Brendo Greysie: Stuart Ayres and anyone else will ignore this situation at their own peril. This problem is real and imminent. It does not target any particular group, gender, age bracket or experience level. It is an insidious condition that attaches itself to police and totally destabilises the equilibrium they previously enjoyed. It manifests out of trauma, continual exposure to trauma and worst if all is a sickness that thrives on cumulative exposure to horrific incidents. That said, studies undertaken with focus groups that does not include those effected and discharged with PTSD etc are worthless and a waste of the public purse. Get the message from the experts, not academics. These studies need to be legitimate and thats not possible without interviewing former police now out of the job. Time to stop stuffing around and get solutions to this problem. Dont think youre in Government fir ever, and unopposed. That would be foolish.
