It has been fifty freakin years since Bob Dylan recorded Subterranean Homesick Blues, a song about which to say anything is to say too little. I am all about the latest thing, but this song was so far ahead of its time its still on its way here half a century after Bob Dylans water broke and it came squalling into the world. It is a little bit country and a little bit punk and a whole lotta freaky Dylan poetry (the kind he would explore at length in Tarantula, which I just picked up again, for about the eighth time, this time in an etherware version).
