From the CanDo website. Thomas Kelly killer Kieran Loveridge has received a miserable four years jail. Teenager Thomas Kelly was one of several victims chosen at random by Loveridge, then in a drunken state. This case is typical of a criminal justice system which has been gradually moved to favour the criminal and abandon the victim. Trials are now longer than ever as lawyers argue to what extent the jury should be kept in the dark. The system is dominated by taxpayer-funded appeals, quite often on purely technical grounds. The ultimate responsibility for all this rests with the politicians. This case is yet another reason why the politicians should be made accountable 24/7, and the people empowered to force the politicians to act in the public interest as determined by the people.
