From the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce: According to the Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee, the storm system is pulling off to the east, but will stall due to ocean enhancement. Expect windy and whiteout conditions into the afternoon. The snow will continue for a few more hours and slowly move off to sea leaving 7-10 inches in most Cape Cod locations. Be aware of dangerously frigid temperatures. Road surfaces will likely be very icy. Dont underestimate the cold and dress appropriately if you go outside. The DPW asks that everyone who does not need to travel stay off the roads until they have had a chance to clear main and secondary roads, which should happen sometime late afternoon. NSTAR, National Grid, Verizon and Comcast report few outages due to fluffy, drifting snow. A few isolated outages were reported in Truro, and Falmouth had some outages due to an accident with a utility pole. If you do have issues with any of the following service providers, here are the numbers to call: NSTAR: 1-800-592-2000 National Grid: 1-800-233-5325 Comcast: 1-800-COMCAST Verizon: 1-800-VERIZON (1-800-837-4966)
