From the City of Frisco PATIENT WHO EXHIBITED SIGNS OF EBOLA NOT FROM FRISCO; URGENT CARE FACILTY TO CLOSE FOR DECONTAMINATION (October 8, 2014) Frisco authorities confirm the patient -- who was transported from a Frisco urgent care facility after he showed symptoms of Ebola -- is not a Frisco resident but lives in The Colony. Frisco authorities also confirm The Colony resident does not have children enrolled in the Frisco Independent School District (FISD). Fourteen other people, including clinic staff and facility patrons, were interviewed by Denton County health officials and ultimately released. The patient was transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Frisco firefighters were decontaminated by hospital staff at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas in accordance with Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The firefighters have been sent home and will not be treating patients for 48 hours, as a precautionary measure. The ambulance is being evaluated for decontaminated, according to CDC protocols. Earlier today, Oct. 8 – 12:32 p.m., Frisco dispatch received a 911 call from Care Now, 301 W. Main Street (located near the intersection of F.M. 423 in Denton County), from clinic staff about a patient who showed signs of Ebola. Frisco Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) and Rescue Units, along with two ambulances, the regional Ambulance Bus responded.
