From the Curator of the show in Bologna Dear Joseph, I take advantage of a relatively quiet morning after a few full days spent taking down the show - the sad part of it - to catch up with you and other artists by sending you a full feedback and updating email about our The Illusion of Reality exhibition. The show was looking fabulous, it was a first level quality one. As I mentioned during the official speech at the opening, even though I organize this show once a year, Im very proud and pleased by the fact The Illusion of Reality revealed its own character and strong individuality. For me the theme and focusing on this intriguing theme ideal to be explored, gave me the valuable opportunity to discover a magic world made of figuration - sometimes with fascinating abstract traits -, and of different feelings like joy, irony, realism, lyirism but also mystery, melancholy and intensity. The overall results was a complete new exhibition, very different from the previous ones and at the same time qualitatively excellent. Im very proud of it. Again, the variety of the artistic expressions and styles was very strong, each artwork has its own personality and at the same time was able to dialogue with great harmony with all the other artworks on display; and the final result - thats always my goal during the installation -, among this harmony, each piece, in the whole, not only didnt loose any power but it even made it stronger. Creativity too have been a fundamental element of the exhibition. Im always amazed by seeing the creativity artists use to create these small pieces, nevertheless the big limitation of such a small size. So I really want to congratulate with you, and with all artists in the show, as you realized such a good and creative artworks that gave me the possibility to put together a wonderful exhibition where quality, creativity, variety but also harmony are fascinating protagonists. And I intensely enjoyed combining all these jewels for a beautiful installation. A large and enthusiastic public attended the Opening, I was very pleased to see many interested visitors and we still had a good response of visits and interest during the rest of the two weeks; Bologna, a lively and art passionate city, warmly replied to this new event. The atmosphere and the energy among public and artists - and myself - was very good, impossible not feeling it; that made the Opening evening very special. We had two professional photographers at the Opening working for me, so I will made my webmaster updating the website and preparing a slideshow and I will also prepare a folder with photos of all groups of artworks, so artists can download the ones of their own works. A very last thing. This week we are going to prepare artworks for their return, in the case you have urgency to get yours back at the soonest, will you please let me know it at the soonest so I give you priority? Thank you in advance for your collaboration. I will add in the box a few catalogues, they are big ones complicated to send them through Mail, this why I preferred to wait and add them in the box with the works.
