From the Desk of Professor Tri-Tech: Inventory vs. Non-Inventory Categories When establishing inventory categories for the first time, it can be tempting to want to create categories for services your store may provide to your customers, such as repairs, lessons, etc. AIMsi has a better process for this, using what are known as “non inventory” categories. You will find these under your Ledger Maintenance menu, and these categories allow you to track revenues of things that don’t need quantifying. Some common non inventory categories come pre-established for you, such as service labor, shipping, gift certificates and more!
