From the Glenrock Police Department The entire Town of Glenrock has experienced a loss of natural gas service. This is a developing event and we are still obtaining information. Here is an update from Source Gas. The main gas line to Glenrock has been shut down. Numerous gas employees from throughout the region will be in Glenrock today shutting off each individual service valve/meter. Source Gas estimates this will take until approximately 5:00 or 6:00 PM today to accomplish. After service meters have been shut off, the main gas line will be pressurized and checked for problems. Source Gas employees will then turn each service back on and relight pilot lights at each residence or business. Please do not attempt to light pilot lights on your own. It is unknown at this time when full service will be restored to customers. Converse County Emergency Management is coordinating with Source Gas to determine if any emergency shelters will need to be utilized, and if so, where they will be located. The Glenrock Police Department will try to keep everyone updated on this event. If you have signed up for Code Red alerts, we anticipate sending a notice when we have sufficient information and coordination between cooperating agencies about this event.
