From the Irish Canada Irish Canadian Immigration Centre in Toronto: Express Entry: Most of you will have read Roxannes very helpful guide on the new express entry program which we posted in November. Yesterday, we posted the latest press release re EE. Until CIC actually opens the program, there will be questions that no one can answer. We have consulted a number of immigration consultants and immigration lawyers. This is still all you can do to get ready: 1. Write your ENGLISH test (if you also have French as a second language this may get you more points) 2. If you have a post-secondary education (diploma, BA, MA, PhD) get an educational credential assessment (you can only get the points for your education if you have an assessment from one of the CIC approved organizations--to get the points you need a verifiable report). Re the trades: watch this page for info. 3. Have a job offer in a NOC O, A, or B job in Canada (CIC is not saying that it will be impossible to apply without a LMIA; BUT, note that you get a huge number of points for a LMIA--so having one is going to put you higher up on the feeding chain). 4. Be familiar with the three economic streams (Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades, Federal Skilled Worker) and which one you might best suit (at present the criteria for these streams has not changed but CIC could update at any time). *Remember: getting an invitation to apply will be up to CIC. It will be entirely dependent on who else is in the pool. You are competing with other applicants--this is no longer first come first served. Those with a LMIA or a PNP certificate will score highest. We will continue to post as we receive information.
