From the Netflix Queue: Jurassic Park ... The one, the only, the original. Need I say more? Yes, because the SFX have aged a little and technology dates a movie the instant its introduced, but HOLY SMUCKERS, Steven Spielberg took something that could have been hokey (a lesser director would have botched it) and turned it into a study in how to make an action film. What an absolutely brilliant piece of work with EXCELLENT casting and pacing. My God, the pacing. Can it get any better? No, because Spielberg did it. He. Did. It. I was exhausted by the end of the movie -- which is what should happen. We watch movies, read novels, comic books, play video games -- what have you -- to live vicariously through others and to experience a catharsis that leaves us feeling lighter than we ever have before. Whatever happened to that kind of storytelling? A+
