From the Pastors Pen November 30, 2014 Have you ever been scared? I mean have you ever felt as if your joints were coming apart from the force of fear? Some of us have, I’m sure. But in those instances we were confronted by danger of an overwhelming nature, a danger that seemed to swallow up our resistance as if it were nothing. But what if the confronting thing is more a test of faith than of power? What if it is God that beckons us into unfamiliar spaces, into regions beyond where uncertainty and risk as palpable? How then shall we do? Shall we turn back to our familiar boxes, our long used patterns, our calmly carved ways of doing things? Or shall we rather dare to remember that our God does not beckon us into spaces in which His power and purpose are impossible. Difficult, yes! Impossible, no! What God asks of us, He will empower! What remains then is simple. We need only to know that it is God who beckons us forward. That we shall know by faith alone and by the mechanism of prayer.
