From the Police Blotter: A caller from Wise reported a possible domestic altercation at their neighbors, as they could be heard fighting very loudly. Police responded to find no such disturbance, the residents had been screaming and banging around after a rat ran out of the wall, badly frightening them. Heres just one more thing that affirms what inspired Wendy Welch to write The Little Bookstore of Big Stone Gap. Its not far from Wise but tends to have more stories like this, but theyre usually better. If any of my friends are in the Southwest Virginia/Eastern Tennessee area, you should take time to visit Tales of The Lonesome Pine LLC and have eat at Second Story Cafe, youll be glad you did. Oh and this is the same town that recently hosted Ashley Judd, Patrick Wilson, JENNA ELFMAN, Whoopi Goldberg and several other big names during the Filming of Big Stone Gap the Movie, which is based off a book written by NYT Bestselling Author Adriana Trigiani, who grew up in Big Stone Gap. Basically, its an awesome little town.
