From the Royal Court Director: Saturday May 17, the Royal Court - TopicsExpress

From the Royal Court Director: Saturday May 17, the Royal Court attended the Spokane Lilac Parade along with our friends from the Ellensburg Rodeo Posse. After arriving in Spokane with the Posse at the staging point for the equestrian units, we all had a “tailgate” lunch in the park adjacent to the parking lot and then got the horses and girls ready for the parade. (Thank you 18th Street Deli for the fabulous lunch and snacks for the Court). At the parade staging point we met our counter parts from other rodeos; Omak, Moses lake, etc… We then posed for the judging along with the other courts and community representatives. We also want to extend our congratulations to Ms. Moses Lake for winning the Royalty award this year, Great job! The parade went well for us again this year, and we were greeted with enthusiasm from the crowd, as was the Posse. The parade is technically called the Spokane Lilac Festival Armed Forces Torchlight Parade; every branch of military, veterans and POW’s were represented. It is an honor to be accepted as a participant in the parade with our military heroes, we really enjoyed being a part of it. After the parade we all packed up and made our way back to E Town, with a midnight snack at Mc D’s in Moses Lake. Enjoy the photos in the next post!
