From the book: In some Bible translations such as the King James, you read in Exodus that God commands, Thou shall not kill. The KJV uses the word kill and that is fine. But the underlying Hebrew word is murder. The reason kill still is a fine translation is because we can and do use the terms murder and kill interchangeably. ->For example, we understand that both these statements are identical: - The ATF MURDERED a defenseless mother holding her newborn baby at Ruby Ridge. -The ATF KILLED a defenseless mother holding her newborn baby at Ruby Ridge. By the same token, we also understand that both these statements are identical: - Bill Clintons Attorney General Janet Reno authorized the MURDER of innocent children and their parents at Waco. - Bill Clintons Attorney General Janet Reno authorized the KILLING of innocent children and their parents at Waco. Note: For public school English teachers reading this, I realize you are now confused. A synonym is a word that means the same thing as another word. Therefore, bet and wager are synonyms. A public school education and a good education are not synonymous phrases however; they are antonyms meaning opposites.
