From the conservative magazine The Economist: "The Economist blasts the favours for the wealthy, starting with the tax code, which they claim is “riddled with distortions” that favour the rich, like loopholes that benefit private equity and give massive tax subsidies to those who purchase big houses, while cautioning that higher marginal tax rates are not the solution to ending income inequality. Which makes sense, as it is these convoluted loopholes which allow the wealthy to lower their effective tax rate or avoid taxation entirely. When even The Economist is calling for tax reform, you know that the perverse incentives of the current system of taxation must be a major factor in our economic woes."
