From the day Anti-virus applications were necessary we have had - TopicsExpress

From the day Anti-virus applications were necessary we have had AVG Free edition because it was the best one going at the time and often detected threats not found by the expensive ones such as Norton Anti-Virus. However throughtout the past year AVG has performed really badly in independent tests ( 9th out of 10 of the worst beaten to the bottom place by Microsoft Security Essentials) to the point where it was advised that users remove it and replace it with something more reliable. (the free one that performed well was Avast). And likewise throughout the past Year, Kaspersky has done exceptionally well in independent tests so I decided, as they had a good promotion that covered three licences for any type of OS, for 2 years, to go ahead and purchase it. I eventually (with a struggle) got it installed into the first laptop, and eventually got it into the second one but nothing but nothing would allow it to install on the Android Tablet. I was almost tearing my hair out. So defeated (and how I hate to be defeated by a lump of metal and plastic with a microchip for a brain) I sent an email to their tech dept. Back came the reply on how to uninstall it and re-install it on the Tablet. I could make no sense of the uninstalling part but as mine hadnt installed I just deleted it and did the installation from the link they gave me which was very straightforward, only it gave me the free version. It took some more time to work how to arrive at the part where you entered the activation key but it is now completed. So, my advice would be, by all means buy it but the installation is not for the faint hearted and if you dont know your way round a computer, ask someone who does.
