From the desk of: Diemiruaya Deniran ARE YOU ABOVE THE LAW? US Citizens are not aware of the power they hold as ‘We The People.’ It is often said “ignorance of the law is no excuse.” I feel that the Constitution should be taught in school maybe there would be more order and control in our Government. Most Americans are ignorant of the power they hold and conveniently you will never be taught by the establishment about the true power you hold. In a REPUBLIC there is a 3 vote system not a one vote system of a Democracy. Now you are wondering or should be wondering if you are awake, what are these 3 votes I speak of? It is with the 3 vote system that we are able to check Tyranny not with the one vote system. Let me explain if you are confused. Your first vote happens at the Polls on Election Day, this is when we select who we want to represent us in the seat of Government. But what power do you have if the elected Officials do not perform as promised? Well the second two votes are the most effective means by which common people of any nation on earth have ever had in controlling those appointed to SERVE them in Government. The 2nd vote is when you are brought to serve on the Grand Jury. Before any individual can be brought to trial for a capital or infamous crime by those acting in the name of government, authority must first be given by the Citizens serving in the Grand Jury. Minneapolis Star and Tribune in March 27, 1987 edition noted the purpose of the Grand Jury this way: “A grand jury’s purpose is to protect the public from an overzealous prosecutor.” The best is left for last, and this is the most powerful vote, which is when you’re acting as a Jury member during a court room trial. It is in this ARENA that each JUROR has MORE POWER than the President, all of Congress, and all of the Judges combined! Congress can legislate (make law), the President or some other bureaucrat can make an order or issue regulations, but no JUROR can ever be punished for voting “Not Guilty!” Any JUROR can with impunity, choose to disregard the instructions of any Judge or attorney in rendering his or her vote. If only one JUROR should vote “Not Guilty” for any reason, there is no conviction and no punishment at the end of the trial. Thus, those acting in the name of Government must come before the common man and woman to get permission to enforce law. YOU ARE ABOVE THE LAW!
