From the desk of my dear friend Dixie L Freeze . . . A family was on vacation. Dad was driving, Mom in the front passenger’s seat and their little girl in the back seat. The girl was deathly allergic to bee stings. Somehow, a bee had gotten in the car at their last stop, and was taunting the little girl in the back seat, buzzing all around her head. She shrieked, “Daddy! Daddy! A bee! He will sting me!! Daddy, help me!! With that, the Dad reached out his hand and caught the bee in his bare hand. A few seconds later, he released the bee and it began buzzing about the girl’s head again. She shrieked again, “Daddy! You let him go? Hell sting me!!” The wise father held out his hand, showing the daughter that the bee had stung him in the palm of his hand. The bee’s stinger was still there. He said, “Honey, you have nothing to fear! Your Daddy took the sting out of that bee! All he can do is buzz!! He can’t hurt you any more!!” The little girl took her bare hand and smashed the bee against the window! That’s exactly what God has done for each of us through His free gift of salvation through the shed blood of His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus took the sting of death and left us with Life Eternal and victory on this journey! So, next time the devil comes around threatening and harassing you, just go ahead and smash him. He cant hurt you any more. All he can do is buzz.
