From the film archives: The late Ron Asheton of The Stooges. Shot in the mid 90s for Guitar Player Magazine. Photographed with a twin lens Rolleiflex with the 75mm Zeiss Planar 3.5 lens and Kodak Plus-X film rated at ISO 80. Ron was so great to photograph and really understood the process. During the photography, we actually talked about his love for filmmaking and the old Bolex movie cameras. He was really taken with my old German Rolleiflex camera. I told him that I was trying to show some of his intensity that he played guitar with, and asked him to squeeze the guitar so his knuckles would pop out! He knew precisely what I was trying to achieve.
