From the night shift files.... While on a routine walk-through business patrol, Officer Triffo observed two males that appeared to be up to no good. They looked and acted very nervous and suspicious, tried to duck and dodge him inside the store, and eventually dumped their shopping cart and the concealed merchandise that they were carrying and fled out the front door. Officer Triffo followed behind and saw them jump into a waiting car and speed off. When Officer Triffo tried to stop their car, they paused for a few seconds, then sped off down the interstate at a very high rate of speed. Well, we radioed ahead to other police agencies and told them about the car, the suspicious activity, and the really fast driving. The car kept speeding down the interstate and was eventually abandoned after a police pursuit in Kentucky. The driver and passengers were then rounded up and arrested. Inside the car was thousands of dollars of stolen merchandise from other stores all along the interstate. A great job by Officer Triffo on staying alert, seeing the suspicious activity, and keeping the bad guys on their toes! Also a big thanks to all the others coppers who assisted in bringing this crime spree to an end. Thanks for all you do, Carry on, and be safe out there...
