From the original $3.7 billion asked by the White House to $659 - TopicsExpress

From the original $3.7 billion asked by the White House to $659 million, 2/3 of which will go towards more border security, 1/3 going to humanitarian efforts. The bill also would tweak a 2008 human trafficking law that was designed to protect unaccompanied minors who enter the U.S. illegally from countries other than Mexico and Canada from being swiftly deported before they can make a case that they deserve to stay. If the Bill passes the U.S. House, it is not expected to pass the Senate. Congress leaves Friday for a 5 week vacation. So a humanitarian crises will continue on our border.
