From the series The Person & Work Of The Holy Spirit and message Symbols Of the Holy Spirit In Scripture that can be found at Youtube/Bethel By The Sea: The church in the wilderness [OT congregation] was led by the Lord in the pillar of the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night as they traversed the wilderness on the way to their place of destiny. The Lord led the people daily. There were times He led them to stay where they were and there were times He led them to move to a new place. Sometimes they stayed overnight and they moved again and there were times they stayed for much longer periods of time before they were led somewhere new. The lesson for us is this - this OT revelation is a type and symbol is a lesson for the New Testament church [individual believer and corporate Body of believers] who must be willing to follow [be led by] the Lord who is the Spirit every day. We must be willing to move when and where He moves or stay where He has stopped. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God [level of maturity where God can trust us with with His work]. The Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is - or where the Spirit is Lord - there is freedom. The Lord always leads people to a place called freedom! It was for freedoms sake that Christ has set us free. It was not for our sake or even His sake. It was for freedoms sake. Freedom is so important that Jesus paid the ultimate price to bring us to the place [or state] called freedom. This place or state called freedom is also called truth. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Only truth that is known and embraced can really and ultimately bring us freedom! So, freedom cannot be separated from truth! And freedom cannot be found apart from the Spirit of truth that guides in and to truth! Freedom is so important and is so connected to truth because of the awesome responsibility that comes with it. In the state called freedom individual people are responsible for their own actions. In this state people do not have permission to blame other people for their behavior. Those who blame others for their behavior, condition or state of being prove they are still slaves - as they are not living in the state called freedom! More wisdom for more revelation!
