From the super delegates conference of the NPP yesterday, a potential legal action could have ensued. I understand the electoral college was tasked to prune down the candidates to 5 for the party to choose one in October to contest the general elections in 2016. This implied that each voter should have made 5 choices on the ballot paper, just like how Unit committee members are elected, so that the 5 candidates receiving the highest number of votes would have been declared elected. Choosing only one had the potential of electing less than the 5, e.g. if after the first one, two, three or four the rest at the bottom had zero vote each, less than 5 would have been elected and unless their constitution had room for such occurrence, someone would have sued for annulment of the whole electoral process and would have succeeded.
