From time to time, politicians argue against tax avoidance, but rarely take effective concrete steps. This new blog entry of mine questions whether tax avoidance is possible in a capitalist (or mainly capitalist) world even if attempted. As the pic shows, anti-government comedian Jimmy Carr immediately paid the £500,000 he had tried to avoid in tax, after being condemned by David Cameron. Gary Barlow had campaigned for the Tories and (along with 2 former Take That bandmates) years later are being forced to pay £20 million, and still Cameron has yet to make a comment.
