Front Row Motorsports Hollywood Casino 400 Report Kansas Speedway, 1.5-mile oval, Kansas City, Kansas David Ragan, No. 34 Dockside Logistics Ford Starting Position: 37 Finishing Position: 27 Kansas Speedway turned up the Chase excitement a notch on Sunday in a race that could be termed a bracket buster. Six out of 12 remaining championship contenders wrecked or suffered other setbacks as the super-fast 1.5-mile oval pushed some drivers over the edge. David Ragan had a close-up view of some the incidents, but stayed clean himself over the course of the day. Starting 37th, Ragan and the No. 34 team had a Dockside Logistics Ford that had some speed but needed some help turning better through the corners. Seven wrecks, accounting for seven of the eight cautions, gave the team opportunities to work on the car, and also the chance to employ some pit strategy. The yellows did wave in Ragans favor a couple times, allowing the team to gain back a lap using the wave-around rule and then pit under caution soon after when the yellow flag waved quickly again. After climbing as high as 26th during the race, Ragan was in 29th as the field took a final restart with 28 laps to go. He gained two more positions in the final run to cross the line in 27th. Comments from Dockside Logistics team driver David Ragan after the Kansas race: Our Dockside Logistics Ford wasnt too bad today. The guys did a good job on pit road with adjustments over the course of the race. Track position was tough, but we had some better luck with pit strategy this week, getting some cautions when we needed some. So, we made some gains on track, but we wouldve liked more. Moving on, were looking forward to a week at home, racing in Charlotte next week. And we might even be able to apply some things we learned here in Kansas.
