Front-end & Back-end Software Developers 2 x Python/Django Software Engineers Title: 2 x Python/Django Software Engineers Term: Six Months (renewable) Language: English and Tetum. Location: Dili, Timor-Leste. Description Were looking for two talented people, one front-end web developer and one back-end developer, with broad technical skills who genuinely want to have an impact on the world. You will work on a range of projects and be involved in all stages of the software lifecycle from design through development, testing and deployment to maintenance. You will be helping to build systems that impact millions of people, delivering a dynamic and compelling user experience and adapting technologies for the developing world. You will be working on a range projects from Timor-Lestes first mHealth project Liga Inan (ligainan.org) to the Government of Myanmars Aid Information Management System, and much more. General required qualifications: Computer Science degree or equivalent skills, experience and enthusiasm Competence in multiple languages -- programming and spoken -- looked upon favourably Solid grounding in UNIX/Linux Experience with a versioning system such as Git or Mercurial You sweat the details Required back-end developer qualifications: Strong knowledge of Python 2 and looking forward to using Python 3 3 or more years of experience with the Django Framework Comfortable with complex data models Experience with test-driven development and unit testing You do this stuff because you love it. Required front-end developer qualifications: Proficient in HTML5 and its related technologies Experience building products with jQuery, Bootstrap, and D3.js Competence with Python, and Django / Jinga2 template languages A strong focus on design, simplicity & usability Accessibility and performance optimisation skills A passion for making great products Additional experience or interest in the following areas would be beneficial: Free/Open source software Ubuntu Linux server administration Realtime web Agile development How to Apply: Applications for the two advertised positions close on 14 March 2014, however, any expressions of interest after this initial period are also welcomed.
