Frontier Communications is reporting that a cut cable is affecting exchanges 454, 452, 451, and 862 in the Bloomington-Normal area. Not everyone with those exchanges is being affected, about 1,200 customers are without a dial tone. Frontier is not sure where the cut cable is located. McLean County 911 Executive Director Tony Cannon says if citizens have an emergency and do not have a dial tone, to use a cell phone to ensure the call goes through.
