[Frustrated with your abs? Heres my easy 5 step solution] Im going to be honest with you. If youre eating healthy and working out on a regular basis and are still frustrated that you dont have a flat stomach, then youre doing something wrong. Or you need to do more of what youre doing right. Yesterday afternoon, on this page, I posted this question: whats your biggest challenge or frustration with getting the body you want? 72 men and women responded (thank you to the 72!) and although there were a variety of answers, the response that showed up the most was frustration from people who still had abs that werent flat and defined. And this was from people who said they were eating healthy and working out. Unfortunately I hear this all too often. BUT, I must say Im glad you have read this far, because Im going to tell you what you need to do to get your stomach flat. I do need you to have an open mind, however, because many of the things Im about to share with you have nothing to do with diet and exercise. First, you need to work on yourself and do more things that make you happy. In a sense, you need a shift in your mindset. When you choose to do something, ask yourself how its serving you to reach your goals in life. When you constantly check email or Facebook at night instead of spending quality time with your family or friends, how is that serving you? When you choose to watch TV after work instead of working out, how does that move you closer to getting a flat stomach? If you come home from work and all you do is complain to your spouse about how unhappy you are with work, why do you stay at your job instead of finding a better solution? Unfortunately, in this day in age, were a society with too much technology, too many TV shows, and too many complaints about work. None of these help to serve you to be a better person, or be happier or reach your fitness goals. Start to make changes in these areas of your life. Next, put together a morning routine that works on personal development. Personal development just means you will be working on YOU first thing in the morning. If you want to have a successful career, relationship and a beautiful, fit, strong body, you need to make yourself a priority. Thanks to the book, The Miracle Morning, I now have a routine that I practice each morning where Im working on me. The routine includes silence or meditation, reading, exercise, writing in a gratitude journal, practicing affirmations and visualizations. Its been a refreshing way to start my morning and Ive become a much better (and happier) person for it. And I can see all areas of my life improving. Only once youve developed a personal development routine in the morning and started to shift your mindset to ask yourself how each of your decisions helps you reach your goals in life, then you will be in a much better position to work on specific fitness goals, like getting a flat stomach.
